Volume one runs for around 70 minutes and the action comes thick and fast with 56 different Class 47’s featured. All locomotives included are in Rail Blue livery except, 582, 595 and 634 which are in large logo livery and 487 which is in Inter City livery. 47484 is in G. W. green livery, 47703, 704, 708 and 714 are in Scot Rail livery.


The period covered is 1985/86 and this provides a fascinating look at the Class. From 47148 complete with steam heat at Dundee to the 47/7’s on push/pull duties in Scotland.

582 is seen bound for a BR open Day hauling 50023 plus a varied mixture of stock. 622 is seen heading for the same Open Day with another mixture of stock and an H S T power Car. There is also an electric – diesel change over at Cambridge where 576 goes on to work a Liverpool St. train on to Kings Lynn. A very appropriate loco for the job. There is station action plus full thrash line side passes. Soak up the sight and sound of 477 make a Hell Fire start away from Reading with 12 up. Then 472 make an equally blinding start away from Basingstoke, this time with a lighter 10 coach load.
