Diesel Traction Video

Hello and welcome to Diesel Traction Video. We were one of the first companies back in the 1980’s to issue videos featuring the modern rail scene. Back then we traded under the name of Modern Traction Video since our titles featured electric as well as diesel traction. Now we have dropped the spark boxes and concentrate solely on British Rail diesel traction. We had some enthusiastic reviews of our videos published in both Rail Enthusiast and Railway Magazine.

Our first release in 1983 was dedicated to the Class 55 Deltics and this was originally movie film which had been taken before the days of video cameras. A great deal of trouble and expense was gone to having it transferred onto video but the quality was not brilliant. However, it had some good reviews in the Railway press and sold very well. The material has now been digitally remastered and the quality improved.  So the plan is to release an improved Deltic Tribute at some point in 2011.

It is difficult to imagine now, especially for younger people, that in the early 80`s video was still in its infancy. This is no doubt why we were one of the first on the scene. A large amount of heavy equipment had to be carried around but the medium improved beyond all recognition by the end of that decade.  Several titles followed the Deltic production, culminating in two volumes dedicated to the Class 50.

All material has now been remastered and is issued on DVD for the enjoyment of enthusiasts throughout the world.  The new DVD productions will be different to those previously issued on video. We kicked off the digital era where we left the analogue age with two Class 50 volumes and these were soon followed by a third with more to come.

So here is what you will get with a Diesel Traction Video; A DVD made by enthusiasts for the enjoyment of other enthusiasts. Watch a Class 37 working a heavy freight in The Highlands or a Class 50 romping along the West Country coastline. What you will hear is English Electric engines vibrating your T.V. Set. No intrusive music or irritating narration.

Diesel Traction Videos contain only vintage and historic footage shot during the British Rail days. Endless scenes are captured that are now just history. So take a nostalgic walk down memory lane to those halcyon days when Diesel Electric Locomotives ruled the metals & hauled trains were commonplace.

The glorious sights of passenger and mixed freight trains as well as block & engineers workings are all here.

Most of the DVDs run for 60 minutes, but some are longer. See notes on individual titles.

Identification of locomotives, locations and dates etc. is provided by superimposed computer graphics. The DVDs are supplied in cases containing further producer’s notes.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and DVDs are despatched on the same or next working day of order. Money back guaranteed if not completely satisfied.

I hope that you find something to interest you and keep checking as several new titles will be added.   You are more than welcome to contact me if you want more information, or have some suggestions. Whatever, feel free to get in touch.

Don’t forget all titles include only  Locomotives in full British Rail service.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.
